Dr Modi, you are leaving,
Retiring from your Doctor's life,
To lead a life of leisure
In the company of your wife.
You have said you wish to tend your plants,
Listen to music and much more,
Have time to do the things you wish,
Without Patients knocking on your Surgery door.
Many Patients have sent Good Wishes,
Thanking you for the help you gave,
By honouring your Hippocratic Oath,
Many lives you have probably saved.
I was a relatively new patient,
Twice a week I would visit your Nurse,
You wish my legs would get better,
But, hopefully, not get worse.
You now leave your Patients
In the hands of Dr Shah,
For the aid you have given your Patients,
We all say ''Hip hip, hip hip, hoorah''.
