Dragon Poem by Timber Koleden

Dragon

Ancient fortress, with folded shields
Bigger than trees, or long hay fields!
Hornéd and helmed, with spears for teeth
Sword bladed claws, without a sheath

Monster wingéd, wings like castles spread
Propell'd through air, over land you've tread
Breathéd lava, breath of burning
Dealing out death, death you've spurned

Human dinner, young maids preferred
Hungered and killed, knights you've deterred
Iron fisted, a tyrant cruel
Crushed my foes, I am king that rules!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a poem about a dragon that I wrote when I was sitting through a boring conference meeting earlier this year. The meter may be off, and I had to patch up some of the rhymes, but regardless of the quality, I hope that you enjoy it.
