Poetry Is Poem by Timber Koleden

Poetry Is

Poetry is the tears of the soul
Falling like silver rain
And a cure for the heavy heart
When it's in so much pain
It is the love letter of
one beating breast to another
and it is the memories that are shared
between sisters and brothers

Poetry is the declaration
Of love that never dies
The human mind's resistance
Against all darkness and lies
It is the kindness of
one friend to another
True friends who share
Their silver tears with others

It is the heroic wind
When all 'round ice has lain
With warmth in its wings
To bring the spring again
We are like the flowers
Who peek up their little heads
As the rain falls
And our hunger is fed

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Today I have been privileged to read so many wonderful poems here on PoemHunter, since, as I promised to on Easter, I was trying to get back to all your poetry, dear friends. After reading so many pieces of such sheer beauty I knew that had to write a poem about poetry! Here it is! I hope that you all enjoy this poem: you inspired it after all! 'Silver tears' is a marvelous term that Mrs. Rose Marie used in one of her poems under the same name. I have been waiting to use that term for the perfect poem! Thank you, Mrs. Marie!
