Drawing Near Poem by Billy Loving

Drawing Near

Contemplating my life's worth in my mind
Searching for the good I've left behind
Still the solitary soul
Time, so much of my life, it's stole
Will I be remembered well?
Or just another person with no story to tell
My legacy, I can't quantify
Taking my pills, more time I buy
How much longer, with this world, will I'll be?
When, from this broken body, finally free
Lost in thought, I spend the night
Awaiting the sun's morning light
My journey, not yet complete
Even though, my death, I'm sure I'll meet
To make a difference, is there time?
As from this bed, I try to climb
