Dread Of Sinful Acts (By Thiruvalluvar) Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Dread Of Sinful Acts (By Thiruvalluvar)

201. The evil men don’t feel the dread to have sinful pride
to do guilty deeds, the great men are afraid of.
202. As evil takes one into mire
fear it as you do with fire.
203. Not to be vengeful against the foes
shows one’s great wisdom.
204. Don’t think of woe to others even in unconscious state.
Then God of Virtue will think of your ruin.
205. For being poor, don’t do evil deeds.
If you do, poorer you will be.
206. If you don’t want anguish to afflict you
spare the deeds of evil to others.
207. You can escape enmity of any kind
but the retribution of evil done pursues to kill you.
208. Like the shadow stays at one’s feet,
the sin of one’s evil deeds lies in wait to strike.
209. If you love yourself, don’t seek access
to sinful deeds of even a little bit.
210. If you keep away from sinful acts
Know you that you’re noble.
