Dream Poem by Chris Jibero

Dream

Going on a recess
A recurring pacific process
Temporal rest from life's hustles and bustles
The mind dives into the archives of thoughts
Emerging shortly after with hands overflowing with news
And unto the channel of time it leaps
To broadcast to a soul bogged down by slumber
Imaginations captured by his candid camera
Some exciting
Some dreary and drab
Some yet horrific and bizarre
Others explicit episodes of souls in love tango
Sometimes whipped up for a mention
The best reality television
Leaving tangible evidences on wears and sheets
To convince wakefulness

Congealed recordings dissolve in the warm liquid of peace
They splash and splutter
And flash in unchecked conflagration
Playing and replaying scenes thoroughly edited
Vaporous musings contend for space with one another
Facts and fictions in the storehouse of the brain
Often times transmitted in ciphers and symbols
Hard nuts to crack for people not in the mould of Joseph

Healthy and junk foods fed the mind ceaselessly
Come rearing their humorous heads
Like vibrant, village virgins
Untainted beauties giggling gaily
At their muscular village champion suitors
Toiling under sunshine and rainfall consecutively
To impress and win their hands in matrimony
But most dreams other than a few divine revelations
Are free home videos
Written, played, produced and directed
By fleeting wishes and desires
Watched only by their makers
And such should not bother a sound soul
Because a dream-infested mind is hooked
And incapacitated my bulky burdens of hopes unfulfilled
For dreams are mostly thoughts in wakefulness
Whose production are largely influenced by where one sleeps.
