Dreams Poem by Elizabeth Kurian

Dreams

Dream if you must, but only while asleep!
When you awake from your disturbed slumber
You'll realize that what you thought you saw
Was only a figment of your imagination,
Which you do not expect to come true.

But if you dream in broad day-light,
There seems to be no clear division
Between fact and fantasy;
No awareness whether you are awake
Or lost in day dreams;
Then reconciliation with bitter reality
May itself continue to remain a dream.
