Drift Poem by Judy Jones

Drift

I take a step
off
but I am not fallen down
or any direction
Free falling without motion
Surprise
a sudden vertical jerk
forward
intensity
pressure
weighs heavily
I am on ground
unsure if it is solid
I sit heavily
sunken
Make me weightless
Drift
Oh, how I want to drift away!
This is no place for me
for a resting soul
Teasing gesters
end in weight
Too much weight to bear
Oh, let me drift
Even if it just for a night

I really enjoyed this. I think everyone feels this way one time or another. Great description
