Drifting Poem by Not Long Left

Drifting

let us not drift apart like a river,
separated by land.
to then flow,
in different directions.
on journeys unplanned.

i can see us building a wall,
between us
and i am losing sight of your face.
just give this battle one last volley,
of hope, let us shorten this space.

throw me your honey scented hair,
and i will pull myself back to you,
for i am like a childs ball,
stolen by the sea, drifting further,
and further away. fading from view.

come let us wind this rope of trust,
tightly round our bodies,
face to face, skin to skin,
breath to breath.
whether you go i go too,
if you shall drift,
i shall drift beside you
