Drive Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

Drive

Rating: 5.0

When I was still home in my hive
Dad said PUT your gray matter in DRIVE.
Doing AS I was told
made me fearless and bold
and what's more, it has kept me alive.

I admit that I aim to impress
as a wordsmith in English, no less.
Yet I harbour some fears
that, when judged by my peers
that the verdict is anyone's guess.

May I second Robert's remark and add a large does of compassion and a fine ear for the music of all language. You're a legend Herbie! love, Allie xxxx
