Drop In The Ocean Poem by Sven Rhoads

Drop In The Ocean

A long hard view into the eternity
How small I am yet the ripples reach out
Have I walked as a ghost among the living
I speak but no sound seems to come out
Reflections of stars on the glassy water
Deep in the black sea of mystery
Looking outward to see into myself
To again gain the sense of clarity

Drifting further away from the barren shore
Just a drop in the ocean
For the waves to set forth
Where my journey will go only tomorrow knows
As I'm drifting further out into the sea

Over time I've crashed upon the rocks
Counted the grains of times own sand
Gazed into the sky that goes on forever
Will I ever find my place on dry land

While storms thrash the open water
And yet still here I will remain
Time goes on and seems to get longer
Until I'll escape into the rain

A long hard view into the eternity
Looking out into the endless blue
To be just a drop in the ocean
Waiting for the unfolding truth
