Drowning Poem by Marissa McFay

Drowning

Rating: 5.0

Amidst an ocean of people
All of whom know my name
They sing me praises and talk to me
Listening intently to my tales
True or false, that does not matter
They love to hear my words

Being tossed from person to person
Blown about by each conversation
People ask about my love, my family, myself
I give them each different answers
True or false, that does not matter
They love to hear my words

Unable to keep up for much longer, I start to sink
I'm drowning in the conversations
I realize I need help to make it up to shore
I ask those around to help me by making any plea I can
True or false, that does not matter
They love to hear my words
