Duty Poem by Gangadharan nair Pulingat..

Duty

Fire often tells and reminds us
Never indulge in play with me
I am angry and anger my born character
I can destroy and swallow anything and everything
Through which the object is purified
The materials altogether swallowed
It is only my mission, destined mission always
I am also the blessed one, and blessing one
When you give enough to swallow even your body
Which I will accept my own and convert in ashes
The soul will be directed to its own ways
As per the wishes and actions of deceased ones.
