Dying Embers Poem by Phil Soar

Dying Embers

Rating: 5.0

The dying embers of her life
Burned slowly at the end
Unlike the fire that burned so bright
When she was just a friend
The world seems more than empty now
No sign of her by morning light
Just lines that mark my furrowed brow
And guilt I try my best to fight
