Dying To Escape Love's Hold Poem by Joseph Kable

Dying To Escape Love's Hold

Rating: 5.0

The moment she realized she was irreplaceable,
She took him for granted,
He knew he couldn't live without her,
So he did the only thing that could help him leave her,
Kissed the lips of death & met his end.
The blood moon appeared,
A bloody kind of darkness engulfed the sky.
With each pull into the darkness,
He felt more & more at home,
It was in that dark chasm where he found peace,
The empty void's embrace was what he needed to escape reality's hold,
Love was nothing to him there,
No feelings, no affections,
No mirrors for reflection,
Of his picture perfect love lost,
He preferred to fall for a lie,
Lay there and die,
Than be caught in a web of truth,
She was never his to begin with,
She'll never be his in the end.

Well conceived and nicely crafted in persuasive expressions with conviction. Sad tale of love expertly narrated with insight. Thanks for sharing Joseph.
