Each Day With You (Ballade With Double Refrain) Poem by Leslie Alexis

Each Day With You (Ballade With Double Refrain)

My dreams, my wants; I find my home in you.
Can I be worthy of a love so warm?
I’m graced by grace, such love is seen by few.
Your love does shelter from every storm.
And if I gather bees to make a swarm;
My love, the comb; if I collect it all,
To match your love, the bees will need reform.
Each day that I’m with you, I have a ball!

When stress ascends and skies become pale blue,
When light grows faint and I feel like a corm;
I go to Love; I know your ways are true;
Your love does shelter from every storm.
I love your love, for it does not conform.
The love, the works, O how they do enthrall.
I know your love will not become lukewarm.
Each day that I’m with you, I have a ball!

The Peacock feather - most wonderful hues,
Such royal beauty stands above the norm;
In love’s delight, amazed, I love the view.
Your love does shelter from every storm.
For you I write of every known verse form:
Ballades and sonnets, poems big and small;
Love’s words I’ll pen, I’ll sing, I will perform.
Each day that I’m with you, I have a ball!

I give my heart so that it might inform:
Your love does shelter from every storm.
Each day I’ll climb; by love, I’ll never fall.
Each day that I’m with you, I have a ball!
