Earth You Are Unsatisfied Poem by Itai Oscar

Earth You Are Unsatisfied

Oh earth!
How big is your belly that you are
unsatisfied?
a couple of days ago you opened
your mouth wide and swallowed
Pamela
a couple of months ago your
mouth was as wide as a yawning
hippopotamus when you
swallowed her dad
last year you gobbled her husband
now the kids are orphans
but you are not satisfied still
when are you going to say I'm enough
can't you see you are hurting
families?
you and your cousin death
you never say, 'I'm full! '
what I know is that you can only
take the flesh
the spirit is eternal
and death is the last enemy to be
conquered.
