Earthly Crown Poem by Gary James Smith

Earthly Crown

Rating: 5.0

EARTHLY CROWN

Though they crowned Him with a crown of thorns
It was befitting for that King
For He had offered Himself for us
Committed to suffer anything.

Redemptions price, His own shed blood
Poured out at Calvary
There it dripped from head to toe
His blood poured out for me

How could that be the ransomed price
For sinner’s such as us
The angel’s marveled as they watched
The actions on the cross.

Silence came to honour Him
Death had its final power
Grave’s victory was doomed forever
At Resurrection’s Hour

That birth! That death! That risen King!
That name that is Renowned
What glory due our Heavenly King
When He wears His earthly crown.
