Easter Egg Life Poem by Michael Peterson

Easter Egg Life

Rating: 5.0

A simple chicken egg
Laid at a farm in the country
Gathered, clean and carton
Shipped to a store in big Quantities
A big holiday is here
From the shelf in the dairy section
Seeing the excited Kids
Gleaming over what these eggs will become
Carefully setting these eggs in a cart
Down the Aisle to the food coloring section
Many beautiful Colors to choose from
Home to boil these beautiful oval objects
3 minutes to cook, hours to cool
Vinegar and coloring mixed to color
Crayons to draw baskets, rabbits, chicks
Flowers and candy for the holiday joy
Pinks, oranges, yellows, Reds, greens, Blues
Drying and waiting for the big day ahead
Soon to be hidden thru the yard in the parks
Under tree and benches behind the bushes in the flower beds
Waiting for the screaming Kids excited in finding them one by one
When found they become Easter Eggs
Beautiful and bright from the sun's light
Waiting to be eaten and enjoyed
The Easter egg lives a beautiful short life
But bring many smiles and love for years to come

A great poem, I've been helping my daughter eat her easter eggs, once you start eating them you can't stop.
