Eclipse - One Gone, One Yet To Come Poem by moon batchelder

Eclipse - One Gone, One Yet To Come

a dropp of blood - black velvet sky,
grey misty veils conceal the view
to part once more - the moon reveal;
her counteance - an eerie hue.
ethereal brushstrokes stain the ground
to entertain the folk whose eyes
are trained beyond the weary earth
upon her shadow in the skies.
celestial dance - a tryst in space,
that won't be seen again for years;
a taste of heaven's rhythm seems,
a dream that too soon disappears.
all three will dance late summer - scene
the sun and earth - with moon between!
