Eden - Poem by Chandra Hohmann

I want to live in an Eden
Where the guns of war don’t sound
The little lamb and lion play
And death is known only to the old
Peaceful in their sleep

I want to live in an Eden where you can love who you choose
Without fear or scorn

Where poverty is unknown
No one would dream of not sharing all they had
With a hungry child

I want to live in an Eden
Where there is nothing to fear

Not even yourself

Everyone has a place to call their own

I want to live in an Eden
Where you are free
From the boundaries and conflicts of society
The monster in the closet

I want to live in an Eden

I want…
to live in a dream
