Indigenous Friends Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Indigenous Friends

We were once...brothers
Sharing the same land
Waking to the warmth
Of the summer's sun

We were once...sisters
Sharing this same land
Laying our heads
To the barren moon

We were once...
Such great sons
And daughters
Loving neighbours

We were once...lovers
Of the sun and moon
Sharing this great land
Until such high noon
