Today I'm glad as much as I can be
That none dictates the way I want to be,
Gone is the need to please and so be swayed
Those ever present fears some may be dismayed.
Gone are the days of many puerille cares
I'll let my words flow boldly- truth or dare,
To touch or excite some introspection
Charily smooth in their subtle presentation.
Those self-appointed gods may thus feel pricked
For then it proves that words have power for the meek.
