Effing And Blinding Poem by Sergio Savioli

Effing And Blinding

EFFING and BLINDING

Alas why can't we poets get what we want
Why doesn't the editing function work as it ought
Those words joined together without a space
Definitely look like typos that are in the reader's face
They may not seem like much of a blot
But it makes the poems look slipshod
And us look careless when we're not

We address life's existential quandaries
Its daily jibes and mockeries
Love's drolleries and vagaries
Its fopperies and treacheries
The grim growling in cold vicinities
Mankind's gutters reaching everywhere
And have to waste time with silly software

So what is left to us
Is effing and blinding
Stomping and ranting
Screaming and cursing
Spitting and kicking
And if that sounds like a lot of fuss
Too bloody right
Yes,I'm using a blunderbuss
And don't call it superfluous
Because it's not
Sometimes all that is left to us
Is to cuss
