good ole deep dark green Limmat
glistening and flashing with patches of pale blue sky
home to ducks and swans and summer swimmers
you flow ceaselessly under Zurich's bridges
past rustling, murmuring, swaying trees
past embankments, paths and grassy banks
calming human care and strife and fretfulness
only your strong current reminds us
of the inexorable flow of things
as you faithfully reflect the world around us
caring not about human deceit and dishonesty
almost overlooking our depravity and ingratitude
you forgive the filthy butts, bikes and plastic bags
thrown into your swirling fine clear waters
even if you prefer the frank and forthright fishes
or bodies that swim unsprayed and creamless
to share your, fluid, flowing wondrous wetness
