Egyptian Fruit Bat - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Egyptian Fruit Bat - Lincoln Park Zoo

Egyptian Fruit Bat, that is me,
Hanging out at Lincoln Park Zoo.
Egypt - there never plan to be,
But love to eat fruit - yes I do.
I am nocturnal, but my eyes
Don't see all that well in the night.
But I have radar ears - sound flies,
Alerting me of snacks to bite.
Only mammal that flies, and so
When not in flight, my body brown
Needs good leg support - doncha know! .
Best way is hanging upside down.

I have a long name for a bat.
So just call me E.F. - how's that!
