El Salvador
White hand on black paper
Meant death for Romero -
Revered archbishop.
Yankee dollars were behind
The mass executions;
The rapes & electric shocks.
The cameras recorded
The vivid colour of blood.
Armed dark angels still prowl
The crumbling city streets.
