Election 2012 Poem by Luke Easter

Doing a better job, this 2012 President Election is not about,
Whereas, it borders on one strategic element & that is clout,
Neither with policies that advance through power or might,
It's simple as who has the most popularity, Black or White?

Solely on grabbing votes, same sex marriage, Barack agrees,
Mitt on the other hand, quotes the bible for what he believes,
Mankind's whole idea of separation between Church & State,
Not so much about God, the evil of greed will decide our fate.

The direction of this country was never about a utopia picture,
Although many do not think so, it must follow bible scripture,
For only the second time in history one billion dollars is spent,
A fortune for a job paying 300k and not one more measly cent.

Campaign ads are not misleading because they are outright lies,
As both candidates approve these messages the question is why?
Can we really trust in a regime, which so easily distorts the truth?
And on the level of that infamous murderer, John Wilkes Booth.

Both political parties are killing the system put in not to allow,
Favoritism, impartiality, etc., etc., but it's being done anyhow,
Courtroom decisions are based solely on the merits of the case,
While voters will cast ballots on facial color aligning with race?

Warren Moon won 5 straight Grey Cup Titles playing in the CFL,
MVP,1978 Rose Bowl meant zilch, a black quarterback? Do tell!
So, he went undrafted in the NFL despite that collegiate success,
Wanting to play but not where racism dictated he would do best.

Fast-forward 30 years to the election of Obama in the year 2008,
Add another four and only success or failure should seal his fate,
Enough on what Mitt did or did not do during his tenure at Bain,
It has as much relevance as whether or not tacos are from Spain.

Did, "Operation Fast and Furious" happen under Obama's watch?
Tit for tat, an eye for an eye, vengeance, time for this crap to stop,
The American people deserve better, ditto the country as a whole,
Should not Presidents be elected not by who but what they know?

Not only President but Governor, Senator, City-Council & Mayor,
These elections are usually based on contributions for future favor,
Occupy Wall Street was years to late, neither is politics about 99%,
It's about those who buy elections & the $$$$$ already been spent.
