Elixir Poem by Bireswar Halder

Elixir

Rating: 4.0

An aroma comes out from the body of my beloved
Sitting alone on a cozy bed in a decorated room
After a long wait I find a golden opportunity to hold on to it
I stare it's beauty with thirsty eyes of a love-pining lover.

A chilly wave flows through my body with a boundless joy
I see a few droplets on the face making that body cool
What an excitement - as if an incessant rain after sweltering heat
Brings lot of happiness on earth to get rid of the scorching heat.

A thrilling sensation sends my heart throbbing
And I proceed for a romantic kiss on the beloved
Lips start trembling and my face blushes
What a pleasant moment - I feel strolling in paradise.

Frequent kissing gives me a lot of divine pleasure
I jerk it's body with soft touch of ice for full satisfaction
My body slowly enters into a real dreamland
Where no worldly anxiety exists - only bliss and joy.

All my long accumulated pains, grief fly away
I feel delighted with nice company of my beloved
It seems I discover a new life slowly inside me
It's an elixir for me, as if for an eternal life!

Let me have a final kiss to become more energetic
Before legs totter, speech mumbles and cloyed languor sets in
I quince my thirst fully and now eyes want to sleep
A tumbler of whisky works as a real panacea.
