Embers Poem by Naomi Waters

Embers

Fire is a calling force
It sings to those whose hearts are broken
The flames purify all that is touched
Leaving bones and ashes in its wake
Uncontrollable and free
A beacon to those of sorrow
Not an end but a beginning
The only way to truly start over
A blank slate
Our mother both forgiving and harsh
Created for the ultimate purpose
To wipe away the filth of this world
With no trace
No memory
Except for the eternally burning flames
It will not bend to the ones
Who call themselves master
If they try to dominate it
They will be burned to embers

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wish I could be like fire. No limits, no rules, and no fools who think that I can be controlled. I want to be like fire and burn all in my path.
