Embrace The Wild Heart Poem by April Humason

Embrace The Wild Heart

Your smile, a spark ignites my soul,
In love's embrace, we both enroll.
Like children, innocent and free,
Yet, in disguise, I hide the glee.

Pretending merriment, I play,
While fear inside makes its way.
Unwary hormones, like a stream,
Longing for a fairy tale dream.

Judgment's shadow lingers near,
A grudge that we must learn to bear.
But let's break free from chains that bind,
Embrace the love, our hearts aligned.

Why can't I be just as I am,
Happy, free, without a sham?
This is my plea, my heart's decree,
To love openly and let it be.

No more fears, we'll stand our ground,
In love's warm glow, we will be found.
Together, we'll be bold and true,
Embrace the wild heart, me and you.
