Empty Promises Poem by wandering star

Empty Promises

You promised her the moon
She held a moonbeam for a minute
You promised her sunshine
It only filtered through the clouds
You promised her roses
She felt only thorns
You promised her the world
She walks an island
You promised her warmth
She feels a distant glow
You promised her forever
You promised forever
You promised
