Encased Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Encased

There are some who will vouch,
They too had been tossed about until exhausted.
By attempts they have tried on many occasions.
To awaken others addicted on the quickest of ways,
They could stay and remain feeling safe.
Within borrowed denials to embrace.

Even in the face,
Of their own religious faiths to fake them.
Nothing done,
Can stop them running away from truth.
Stunning to threaten their deluded lives.
So many have tried and given up.
And died with a sacrificing their own lives.

Even in the face,
Of a truth that remains to chase.
There will still be those,
Choosing to keep medicated.
With it hoped not to hear, see or feel...
The effects of reality.
Surrounding them on a daily basis.
Diminishing with a dose,
Of 'Please God save me from the experience of this.'
Prescribed in fast to take tablets.
Fading to chase truth time released to reduce.

Allowing deluders,
To continue building their brick walls.
Encased and installed,
Within steel and re-enforced cement.
Yet...
Hitting their heads against them.
Thinking this will prevent,
All signs of truth seeking to seduce...
Their fantasized minds.
Threatening to kill,
Lives fictionalized to realize...
Could be devastated by truth if to accept.
