“You’re flying-Bear.”
Said the hanging finch;
From a pine tree,
Both knew it well,
A polite swear;
Too diplomatic
(Though it was never)
Wide-eyed sparrow;
(As if: “Proceed”)
“You are too active;
As your season comes,
Then go to sleep.”
Like a butterfly
Finch flew-fly
Jumped and winged itself
Hung to its claws
Sucking food, it went
Sparrow went down
Swam in a pond
Greenish swamp
“For me it's enough”
Bird was satisfied
Day laid in deathbed
Sparrows, in bush
Not from the wall
A cat passed proud
They flew in bunch
Night of crickets
Frogs and raccoons
Lost floor and died
Came again, morning
With royal arrive
Finch flew and hung
Sucked from the pines
Sparrow was gone
“Did I waste breath
Talking to a dumb? ”
Finch thought in sorrow
Of, Dead-Sparrow
Caught by Black Cat
“You have called us, Bears.”
Said one sparrow,
Finch looked and nodded.
“You neither migrate
Nor save for winter;
Unless in bodies.”
The sparrow laughed.
Mourning turned to fun.
“We do everything…”
Quieted Finch,
“Yet, still small also do migrate…”
A sparrow said,
“…but raccoons get fat and crows relax, also groundhogs…”
Finch’s small eyes
Like the fish’s eyes
Stuck on the sides
Rolled into smile:
“You talk of my heart.”
“…and of our hardship;
That sure we deserve,
We’re stupid.”
Said a sparrow and flew away.
“I’m not of them.
I’ve become a finch.
Care-less of the size,
I want to fly, migrate with the Sun.”
