Endings Poem by Linda Ori

Endings

Rating: 4.5

I remember long ago
When I thought you loved me so,
But today I just don't know
What your feelings are;
Time has passed and so have we -
You and I no longer see
Much upon which we agree -
We've gone our separate ways;
You don't look into my eyes,
I don't care to sympathize,
All we do is criticize -
What have we become?
Two shells cracking under stress,
Neither wanting to confess
The depth of our unhappiness -
Indifference settles in
When we fail to love or hate,
Or take time to appreciate,
Then I guess it's just too late -
We go our separate ways.

Wow Linda, what a poem of reality for so many couples whom have taken the vow of marriage hoping it is a step towards eternity with the one they fell in love with and discover that love has faded. I really appreciate your poetic style and the realism you have injected within your composure. You are an awesome poet and now I must Thank You for giving us a sample of your glowing talent and especially for giving us a little of yourself. As I end this comment I would ask that you please keep your poetic pens ink flowing so your wonderful words of poetry keeps growing. Your Friend, Mickey Pig Knuckles :)

What love can become is often a truly sad story. It's a potent brew when the mix is right, but you never know till you shake the glass and knock it back. And there's no easy way out. Good or bad, lives become entangled. A hard hitting, realistic and sorrowful piece of poetry Linda. Very well written as ever! ! jim xx
