Energises My Feverish System (Correction) Poem by Margaret Alice Second

Energises My Feverish System (Correction)

Bought a silver wand also, ready with silver
glue and stars to change the world into the
fairytale land of my dreams, ready to carry
on through the endless day - sun screens
are up, my eyes can see and soon I'll drink
coffee in spite of allergy making me feverish

We were born to live and make a mess and
enjoy it all - according to the male lead in a
popular movie - so let me enjoy my situation
and drink the cup I have served myself by
making the choices that brought me here
sitting in discomfort - but in such beauty

Flowers ranged around me, pictures of
fairies and little dolls, colouring pencils
with which I adorn my French notes, now
I'll add silver glitter also, a symbol of Mr
Bunduki's boundless energy - though for
him I should use gold, silver is too tame

To show how he gesticulates, jumps around
and exudes an air of business that makes
us all look like we are made of stone -
soon I'll start on Mr Bunduki's devoir, but
now it is time to test-drive my coffee and
find out whether it worsens the symptoms

Or energises my feverish system…
