Enslaved By Her Beauty. pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis Pyramidalis) Poem by john (called jack) wren

Enslaved By Her Beauty. pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis Pyramidalis)

I' enslaved by her beauty
it ravishes my eye
and my heart pants in tandem
with heaving sighs

Yesterday I passed this spot
surely in a vacant trance!
were you making fun of me
am I of no significance?

Many favoured suitors
greet you night and day
to bathe in the beauty
of your ostentatious display

Forgive me, for I can only call
when the day holds its light
but will worship you in dreams
throughout the solitude of night.
