Eryngium (Sea Holly) Poem by john (called jack) wren

Eryngium (Sea Holly)

At first glance, you look like a clown
With a dumpy hat and a funny frown
And a spiky collar that's fun and quirky,
That makes your smile, rather smirky.
Of course, it's your wonderful hairdo
Sitting astride your thin coat of blue,
Making you stand out from the crowd
Of those unpretentious and unendowed
Who do not make use of the same salon
And look plain compared to your bouffant.
Brought from somewhere beyond the sea
On the back of a wave by special decree,
To startle with your outrageous stance
And the sheer brilliance of your radiance
