we invite you to our hall
to fill the air with your song
we heard you perform
on the radio
and the cd's
but you want to talk
you brought your baggage
your agenda
your cause
the paraphernalia
and the entourage
and I'm sure we seem to be the blank slates you need
because none of us agrees with either one of us
about anything at all
until now we know
you are sometimes off key
leaving us to entertain your thoughts
while you could have brought down the house
