Entrust In Each Other Poem by Emma Jane Pearson

Entrust In Each Other

Rating: 5.0

Good memories spread out on the walls
In photos and old love notes from the past.
Everyone looks so perfect
Standing in front of crowds.
But aren’t we all partly standing behind the person in front?
Cowering and being scared, hiding from everyone
And everything.
We all have our equal share of,
Shame and brainless things we have done.
But it’s time to turn to the ones you can trust.
If we all turn together it will be easier for all of us.
A great, genuine friend will always and forever have faith in you
If, you believe in them to entrust with.
But we all have dark secretes locked away in a metal cage,
And thrown away the key
Thinking no-one will ever be able to set them free.
But what happens when someone does?

I like this one very much. A good observation of the secretive behaviour we all indulge in and are at pains to conceal. 'But aren't we all partly standing behind the person in front.' An excellent line, a clever description of our adaptations and compromises in company. Hiding ourselves behind another's persona. Good stuff x
