I promised myself I would speak only the truth
And nothing but the truth, so help me, God
And if you desire witty and flowery dialogue
Do read my eight fictional episodes on Facebook and Linked In;

Since the Canada Day episode, its been
My past, present or plans for a part of the future
And as a Sexaholic, I have never had the drive or the energy to seduce my husband
Or be seduced by him after hosting a social event for I do mostly my own cooking and baking;

However, I certainly remember the dance party
Hosted by the Sparkling Cricket Club in Toronto
This was before my son had begun his life on this planet
I was in a blue sequined sari my sister had presented me
And I had a really daring blouse which has strings in the front
And after having danced till my feet ached
My husband and I came home and I got out of the sari
To say the truth, my husband made a grab for my breasts
And suggestively, touched my nipples
But shooed me off to make dinner late at night
And I have resented this a little but I was also hungry;

As the Shopaholic, I have both shopped for the right items
And received the most thoughtful of gifts
And I bought, along with other serving items, a tea infuser
Which makes the lovely silver tea set hitherto unused into a coveted hostess's item
It sits well on the kitchen counter or the coffee table;

And as the Workaholic, I would love to host a tea/coffee party
Where we would all either say something witty or beautiful
Or serve a certain purpose;

In the book by Rachael Herron which I am reading, How to Knit a Love Story,
The heroine makes an entrance, is the soul of the breakfast table,
Looking simply stunning in a ponytail swishing behind her
And charms all the men by being her natural self;

In Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind, Miss Scarlett O'Hara
Is the life and soul of the Wilkes's party
And along with looking beautiful with her airy vivacity and dancing green eyes
She gets a marriage proposal but has her heart broken simultaneously;

Or as in Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights
A heroine could exchange one heart for another at a social calling
And see the contrast between a bleak, hilly coal country
And a beautiful fertile valley;

Or as in Jane Austen's Persuasion
Anne, thanks after leaving Captain Wentworth's dinner party
One could leave behind great happiness
After socialising to one's heart's content;

Or as in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
Gentlemen who go to dance parties
Get to dance every dance as Mr. Bingham
Or as Mr. Darcy, get to be a little standoffish
All forgiven because of his fortune, almost anyways,
And express his opinion to his friend, of the heroine, Elizabeth Bennett,
Within her earshot
Saying she is tolerable but not handsome enough to tempt him
And thus he makes himself disagreeable;

But ladies and gentlemen, none of these instances include heroines or a hero like me
Who cook and bake
And who happily slave in the kitchen to make goodies
And look beautiful enough
To make the social occasion a delicious memory.
