Epitaph 02 Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Epitaph 02

Here lies a heart,
silent, once fierce with fire.
A voice that rose against the quiet,
now mingels with the still earth.

Time, indifferent,
sweeps away the edges of memory.
Yet something lingers:
the weight of laughter,
the echo of footsteps,
the curve of a name on a stranger's lips.

No need for mourning.
Only the sky remembers fully,
the wind carries what we leave behind.
