Escape Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Escape

Life won't pass me by, no
Last person standing tall
head raised high
the decision finalized
because I realized
That I can't hang this up
not any longer
I like to see the day
and I will see that day
to see myself in a time
where i can live life and unwind

I will not give up
almost there to the finish line
a few more inches to go
this moment i can not blow
I promised myself
I will have the victory

I'll get away
and I can not wait
there's not a day
where I think of my escape

Held myself back
Just to have a little fun
I'll make the rules up
then i'll go along
with the ultimate plan
then i'll have my fun
because I worked hard
enjoying life is the greatest pleasure
and nothing else can quite measure
