Escape To Titania Poem by G J Salgado

Escape To Titania

I use your heart as camouflage for my skin and you use my soul as the skin that covers your flaws
When we're stripped of innocence it becomes a world that awakens inside us
Replacing some of the things I've lost along the way
Writing not to escape reality but to create a reality of my own
Hiding from secrets of the night
Tonight they reveal themselves paradise awaits to be found
I found that place among ancient times of inner moons of timeless Uranus
Old and young I found the layers of Miranda's face
We collided with the brightest and youngest of such early times
I saw Ariel's scars as we found our own while we left behind the intersecting valleys where we all existed once
I took sight of mysterious ages when I was blinded by Umbriel's light
The light of our marriage ring shown the way through those dark shadows
Which seem to always follow us along the way
The journey was then interrupted by the paths of unidentified darkness with craters beneath my feet
We carried the weight of Oberon as it showed little signs of internal activity
My feet became heavy once I met the shepherd moons Cordelia and Ophelia
I felt whispers in the stormy winds of Neptune
Without air and being warped by the cold, I felt old yet ageless within Titania's eighty-four year old day
Through the years we were forever bitten by the rocky ice of the atmosphere
I put my roots upon your bones and I used your blood to conceal who I used to be
I saw you escape into me through space and the distance of my light into your darkness coincided
As we collided clashing beyond the dark that made us alive beyond what we could've ever dreamt of
We experienced forty-two years of light and forty-two years of darkness
I followed you into the night looking for the innocence that we lost
We lost gravity as soon as we left Earth behind
The laws of the universe no longer seemed to matter
While we aged and stayed young by the moon of another galaxy, we found our innocence upon Uranus' moons
Bleeding from the inside out we found the answers of the past upon Europa
We continued in our journeys seeking a future in balance between night and day
I'll forever remember these moments until we reach Neptune
Just like gypsies we took a chance and escaped to Titania
