Eschew The Person Poem by Barry Middleton

Eschew The Person

eschew the person
who disdains children

pull away from those
whose touch is uninvited

avoid people
who do not cook

do not trust the man
who puts a claim on truth

give silence
to pushers of religion

withdraw from those
who prattle endlessly

value the friend
who values silence

I enjoyed your poem. Too many people prattle in their poetry, but some women and children do it also. That's their nature.

I enjoyed the first stanza so much. I think love of children is an essential component of life. As the poem progresses, I felt a bit uneasy. If we 'd avoid all these groups of people, we may have to lead a very lonely life. All of us have our own life views and perceptions. Let us mix with all and lead 'rich' and interesting life. Thought provoking poem

Sorry you felt uneasy but I can assure you this is a lonely world.
