Eternal Love - Poem by Gordon Jerome

I pity you so
As through life you go
Believing you know what love is
It’s not a game that you play
With words that you say
Or an answer upon some silly quiz
But a part of your soul
That helps make you whole
Without it we might as well fade away
So please don’t say the line
Unless you decide that you’re mine
For all eternity and then plus one day
For I deserve no less
Than all the love I confess
That I hold in my heart just for you
Like I’ve said all along
To you my heart does belong
And my love for you shall forever be true.
“closing thought”
Never your love for another should you ever admit
Unless your eternal love you are bound to commit
