Eternity Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Eternity

I am as still as the wind.
I am as silent as cacophony.
I am as ordered as chaos.
I am as wise as time.

I don't wait.
I have no expectations.
I crave no explanations.
I demand no deserts.

I am.
As I have been.
As I will be.
As I must be.

I serve my purpose.
I live my fate
As grand, as great, as eternal
As that of any other.

I am content in my being.
I am perceptive in my seeing.
I am calm as all about me reels.
I am steadfast as an uncertain future steals

With foggy paws and ravens' caws
Like a robber on a moonless night
Into the bedchamber of a maiden waiting
For a much different suitor
Than the one who has pursued her
As stealthily and relentlessly
As age, doubt and malice.

Let whatever come that must.
I will bend.
I will accept.
I will receive.
But I will not recede
From this place I hold sacred
In my soul.

I really like this. The first three lines are great: I am as still as the wind. I am as silent as cacophony. I am as ordered as chaos. and I really like these three: I am content in my being. I am perceptive in my seeing. I am calm as all about me reels. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
