Etranger Dans La Ville. Poem by Michael Walker

Etranger Dans La Ville.

Mon chemin partout.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The speaker of the poem is a stranger in a new town, where he lives in a boarding house. He feels lonely and would like a girlfriend,

but he does not have one. The character would be similar to Hughes

himself. You can feel lonely in a new, strange town, so the poem is both personal and general. The 'privileges' in the boarding house refer mainly to being allowed to watch television in the
lounge.
