Even More Still Poem by Mark Heathcote

Even More Still

With free will, I follow the faithless.
And wander lost and fall like dominoes.

Like koi carp, we sing to the morning sun.
Glowing in all our glory
Open-mouthed, we demand our fill.
And even more still

With free will, I follow the faithless.
And wander lost and fall like dominoes.

I drink to your good health.
Even though with each new hour
I want a refill or even more.
And even more still

With free will, I follow the faithless.
And wander lost and fall like dominoes.

There is none sadly here I've learnt from.
But I guess all things must change.
Even me, even me.
Who has longed eternally to be free?

With free will, I follow the faithless.
And wander lost and fall like dominoes.

But now I'm not the last in line.
But the first for sure.
Lord, have some alms for even me I beg.
Lest I fall like so many others like dominoes.

I ask to be found and reset anew.
Less ego, less proud, less free.
Lord, have some alms for even me I beg.
Lest I fall like so many others like dominoes.

With the slightest encouragement
I overextend my hand and my balance
And fall with all the other dominoes.
Wanting even more.
And even more still, Lord, Lord.

Lord, there is none sadly here I've learnt from.
But I guess all things must change.
Even for me, even for me.
Who has longed eternally to be free?

And now wishes to be less arrogant, less bad-tempered
Less wicked in every way,
Lord, Lord send me on my new learned way.
Not even tomorrow but happily penniless today.
