Ever Searching Desire Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Ever Searching Desire

When all has passed, then laid asunder
Shall then admire, and finally see her
Broken pieces of a loveless heart
The gauntlet webbing of a widow spider

So many dreams have passed yonder way, this weary spirit
Life adored alongside might of sword
Always searching one heart's desire
Searching within each, and every broken door

Though for love souls may hearken and ever, wander
Ages may pass and still rarely find
Another chapter, ever-after
The first and only love defined

I have seen the gates of God's great Heaven
With each passing echoes a beckon cry
Lost for now, still not forever
Shall in no way encounter' without her by my side

Endless life belonging to words once spoken
Within time shall dream alone until one dies
Always methodical until such a moment
The one desire' unseen in every life
